Unfortunately, the Boxer layout doesn't let me display my tags, so I'm going to have to customize my journal. So, if you'll bare with me while I do that, I'll let you all know when the tags are see-able. I just wish LJ hadn't changed the way of customizing your journal; my choices are so limited now!
While tagging, I re-discovered what I had once called my "Howard" 'verse, for want of a better name. I have found that 'better name' and now it's called "A New Kind of Family." If you don't remember, that's the one where Spike and Drusilla had stolen a baby!Xander from the Sunnydale hospital and raised him as their own. I have many fics that I've started/outlined that I plan on continuing after I've finished SR, but I think ANKOF is going to be first on that list. Since it's not a real WIP, I can write single fics in that and post them with no responsibility.
Having learned from SR, I am very keen on the 'no responsibility' aspect of one-shot fics. No more WiPs for me. If I ever post anything multi-chapter, it will be fully completed by that point.
That's all for now. I have some vague RL news, but I'll put that in when I post the all-clear for the tags.
ETA part deux: Never mind. I see it depends on the layout you're using.

I just want to point out that if you track a tag, you get email notifications whenever a *new* entry is posted with that tag, so you should try to get into the habit of tagging all new entries if you want them to be useful in this way.
A lot of times I don't have the time to actually scroll through my flist, but if there's a special update or something that I'm waiting for, I get a notification in my email, which I nearly always have open. It helps make sure I don't miss something I'm looking forward to. In fact, sometimes if I read WIPs that *aren't* tagged, I'll stop reading, simply because I miss several updates and my interest wanes.
I'm still trying to get my layout to make me happy and I can't work some aspects out. You seem fairly savvy about LJ things, so could I please ask you a question or two?

I want to have a different header. Something to be created later - but I don't know how to replace the one LJ supplied me with with one of my own.
Also, I want my friend's page layout to go back to the Boxer style while my main page stays this new Expressive style.
I knew how to do both before my paid account expired, so I suspect the answers are that I can't do them with a basic account, but, then again, the layout for customizing your journal has changed so much since last time, that I could just be missing something.
Do you have any idea if I can do those without upgrading my account?

Now that this tagging project is nearing completion, any plans on updating Sour Revenge, I so wanna know how things are going to change now that Xander fed spike.
Not being ambitious makes me lose interest, losing interest makes me less ambitious... it's a terrible downward spiral that I'm trying to break.

That's very nice indeed. Sharp, clear, with a side panel to put your tags and links to favourite sites, etc. I'm a fan of unfussy layouts, and that looks to fit the bill perfectly. Yay!
